Bio

A graduate of John Abbott College in Commerce and Social Science, Shawn has been Head Coach for the women’s volleyball team since 2008. Founder and Head Coach of the West Island Panthers Volleyball Club and over 20 years of coaching experience ranging from U14 to the CEGEP level, he brings passion, hard work and dedication to the sport as well as the John Abbott College program. He is extremely organized and competitive, however believes in a team concept coaching philosophy whereby all players work together as a team and put out maximum effort which in turn conveys pride, integrity and respect to themselves, the school, the program and their families. His goal for the athletes he coaches is to help them develop discipline, confidence, pride, understanding and a strong work ethic, with the goal of becoming leaders within the community. He believes the life skills one develops in school and their passion, whether it be sport, art or other translate to life skills utilized for the rest of your life.
