Woods is a dedicated, elementary schoolteacher, proud father of two high school children and supporter of youth leadership in the Chateauguay Valley. Woods’ basketball career began playing for Brookwood in the early 90s, where his love for the game started. He then went on to play three years at Dawson College, under H.O.F. Coach Olga Hrycak, followed by three years at Bishop’s University under six-time QSSF Coach of the year, Coach Eddie Pomykala. For the past 20 years, Woods’ passion for basketball never wavered. Whether it was coaching both girls and boys at many age levels, organizing camps and programs for the development of youth basketball, or supporting his own children on the basketball court, he continuously encouraged on-court grit, hard work, integrity and the importance of being a team player. Woods became a fan of women’s basketball early on, since both of his sisters, Kara and Megan, played high-level basketball locally and abroad.
