Men’s Basketball win on the road
The Islanders played last Friday night in the south shore against the Edouard Monpetit Lynx. The game had a play-off intensity with both teams playing hard defensively, and struggled offensively to find a basket. The Isles outscored the Lynx in the first two quarters 16-10 and 16-14, and took a halftime lead 32-24.

However, that lead didn’t last long, as the Lynx gained confidence in the third quarter to take the lead 45-40 heading into the final period. The Isles regained their composure, and scored 18 points in the fourth to win the game 58-54. Max Eisenberg led all scorers with 18 points.

Women’s Volleyball fall to 4th on a 3-way tie
The Isles got off to a quick start on the day but could not sustain the intensity throughout the match losing to Bois de Boulogne in straight sets. Another quick start against André Grasset, but this time the Isles managed to keep the momentum and win in 3 sets. Building on their success Dawson was no match for the Isles as they disposed of their downtown rivals in 2 sets. Gabriela Bonkova and Dominique Simoneau were key on offence with Grace Dash performing well from the service line.

A win in the final match versus Lionel Groulx could lock up second place whereas a loss could see the Isles slip down to fourth. Missed serves and a struggling serve reception where the Isles undoing as they lost in straight sets. This now puts the Isles tied for 10th with 2 league tournaments left. Their hope is to win out and make it into the qualifying tournament that takes the 7th, 8th and 9th place teams.
Ace leaders on the day were Simoneau (15), Dash (12) and Bonkova (11). Stephanie Popa had 14 digs, while Bonkova paced the offence with help from Kritina Del Paggio, Shannon Rooney and Sandra Kusy.
